A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S FORMULA ONE
COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) IN SUPPORT
OF THE DINNER AND LEARN: SAVING YOUR HOME
SEMINAR, TAKING PLACE ON FEBRUARY 20, 2024;
PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 Councilwoman Linda Julien will be a
panelist alongside Miami-Dade County Clerk of Court and Comptroller Juna Fernandez
Barquin, President and CEO of The OASIS at Miami Gardens Danny Felton, and Pini
Real Estate Broker Associate Karen Trivino, to facilitate open discussions regarding
important topics that all Miami Gardens homeowners should be educated on, and
WHEREAS, these topics include reverse mortgages, foreclosures, predatory
housing solicitation, and deed fraud, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien believes that educating residents with this
crucial information helps them recognize signs of potential fraud or exploitation,
empowering them to protect their assets and their financial well-being, and
WHEREAS, educated residents contribute to the overall resilience of the Miami
Gardens community and promotes broader financial literacy among residents, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting an amount not to exceed two-
thousand dollars ($2000.00) from her Formula One Community Benefit account for
catering services provided by Miami Gardens Restaurant Yarumba for the Dinner and
Learn: Saving Your Home Seminar being held on February 20, 2024, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Formula One Community
Benefit Account in the amount not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2000) for catering
services provided by Miami Gardens Restaurant Yarumba for the Dinner and Learn:
Saving Your Home Seminar being held on February 20, 2024.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 14, 2024.
