A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING AN ALLOCATION
OF TWO THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,900.00)
DOLLARS FROM MAYOR RODNEY HARRIS' PUBLIC AFFARIS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN SUPPORT OF THE TRAYVON
MARTIN FOUNDATION REMEBRANCE GALA HELD ON
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2023, NUNC PRO TUNC. PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting an allocation of Two Thousand
Nine Hundred dollars ($2900.00) from his Special events account to cover the cost
associated with sponsoring the Trayvon Martin Foundation Remembrance Gala held on
Sunday, February 4, 2024, nun pro tunc, and
WHEREAS, this fundraiser gala helps support the work of the Foundation, and
WHEREAS, the proceeds raised from the event will support programs such as the
Circle of Mothers and Circle of Fathers program, Youth Empowerment and Scholarship
programs, Back to School Extravaganza, S.T.E.M. Education and Medical Programs, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby support the request for allocation of Two Thousand Nine Hundred dollars
($2900.00) from Mayor Rodney Harris’ Special events account to cover the cost
association with sponsoring the Trayvon Martin Foundation Remembrance Gala held on
Sunday, February 4, 2024, nunc pro tunc.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 28, 2024.
