A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN “LADY” IGHODARO’S PUBLIC
AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT OF
TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500) TO THE
JAMAICAN NURSES ASSOCTION OF FLORIDA TO ASSIST
CITY OF MIAMI GARDNES YOUTH FROM PARKWAY BAPTIST
SCHOOL TO ATTEND THE YOUTH OUTREACH RETREAT;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Jamaican Nurses Association of Florida is focused on helping the
youth of Parkway Baptist School in Miami Gardens, attend The Youth Outreach Retreat,
and
WHEREAS, the Youth Outreach Retreat is the climax of this activity each year,
and
WHEREAS, the Youth Outreach Retreat is the climax of this activity each year.
The 2024 Retreat is scheduled for the upgraded Camp Anderson Youth Retreat Center
in Vero Beach from February 16-19; where their policy has provided every youth the
opportunity and joy of sharing in this life-assuring experience regardless of their financial
standing, and
WHEREAS, youth conferences can be effective means for engaging youth in the
life of their schools, communities, and nation, bringing benefits not only to youth
themselves but also to the community, which gains through the energy, ideas, and values
that youth contribute, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannan “Lady” Ighodaro is requesting the City
Council authorize the allocation of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) to the
Jamaican Nurses Association of Florida to assist City of Miami Gardens’ youth from
Parkway Baptist School located in Miami Gardens to attend the 2024 Youth Outreach
Retreat,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) to the

Jamaican Nurses Association of Florida to assist City of Miami Gardens’ youth from
Parkway Baptist School located in Miami Gardens to attend the 2024 Youth Outreach
Retreat.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 14, 2024.
