A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, , AWARDING INVITATION TO BID
NO. 22-23-031, MARCO CANAL CULVERT REHABILITATION
PROJECT LOCATED AT THE CANAL INTERSECTION AREAS
BETWEEN NW 169 AND 172 STREET AND BETWEEN NW 17
AND 20 AVENUE, TO MRI CONSTRUCTION, INC;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH MRI CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN
AMOUNT NOT THE EXCEED THE BUDGETED AMOUNT OF
ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SIX
HUNDRED AND FIVE DOLLARS ($1,567,605); PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 22-23-031 Marco Canal Culvert
Rehabilitation - Rebid was solicited via BidSync on May 18, 2023, inviting qualified firms
to submit bids to provide rehabilitation to the Marco Canal Culvert at five (5) Locations,
and
WHEREAS, the project locations are as follows:
NW 20 AVE (adjacent to 1985 NW 172 ST)
NW 19 AVE (adjacent to 1870 NW 172 TERR)
NW 18 AVE (adjacent to 17120 NW 18 AVE)
NW 171 ST (adjacent to 17031 NW 18 AVE)
NW 17 AVE (adjacent to 16930 NW 17 AVE),
WHEREAS, on June 12, 2023, bids were received from one (1) bidder; MRI
Construction, Inc, the bid was publicly read, and
WHEREAS, the Office of Procurement Management staff reviewed submitted bid
for responsiveness and responsibility, tabulated the bid price sheets and publicly posted
the results on BidSync for the required seventy-two (72) hours, no objections were
received, and
WHEREAS, funding for the Marco Canal Culvert Rehabilitation project will come
from account 401-41-09-538-630-21, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council award Invitation to Bid
No. 22-23-031, Marco Canal Culvert Rehabilitation Project, to MRI Construction, Inc., and
authorize the City Manager to execute an Agreement with MRI Construction, Inc., in an
amount not the exceed the budgeted amount of One Million Five Hundred Sixty-Seven
Thousand Six Hundred and Five Dollars ($1,567,605),

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby, awards Invitation to Bid No. 22-23-031, Marco Canal Culvert Rehabilitation
Project located at the canal intersection areas between NW 169 and 172 Street and
between NW 17 and 20 Avenue, to MRI Construction, Inc. Further, the City Council of the
City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with
MRI Construction, Inc., in an amount not the exceed the budgeted amount of One Million
Five Hundred Sixty-Seven Thousand Six Hundred and Five Dollars ($1,567,605).
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 27, 2024.
