A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS
ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500), FOR THE MIAMI
NORLAND HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Miami Norland Boys Basketball Team has had a successful
season, showcasing strong teamwork on the court winning its 7th FHSAA boys basketball
state championship, and
WHEREAS, the team has represented the community of Miami Norland with pride
and has achieved notable success under the guidance of Coach Williams earning them
a spot as one of the top contenders in their league, and
WHEREAS, to recognizes the outstanding achievements and contributions of the
Miami Norland Boys Basketball Team, Councilwoman Linda Julien is requesting support
in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500), and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting an allocation of one thousand five
hundred dollars ($1,500) from the Seat 5 Formula One Community benefit account for
the Miami Norland Boys Basketball Team, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby support allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Formula One Community
Benefit Account in the amount of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) for the Miami
Norland Boys Basketball Team.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 10, 2024.
