Staff Summary: Background The City Council and the Board of County Commissioners recently approved a settlement in litigation relating to the City’s share of transportation surtax funds (CITT funds). The City of ITEM K-5) CONSENT AGENDA RESOLUTION Bus Shuttle Service 1515 NW 167 Street, Building 5 Suite 200 Miami Gardens, Florida 33169 Miami Gardens has a growing senior population and many of these seniors are unable to drive to and from retail locations. Current Situation Vice Mayor Oliver Gilbert III is recommending that the City Manager investigate engaging a shuttle service for seniors for transportion to and from certain residential complexes to retail locations within the City. It is anticipated that the funding for this purpose will come from the Transportation Surtax funds which the City anticipates receiving from Miami-Dade County.
