Crew, City Manager Department: Fleet Division  Short  Title:   A  RESOLUTION  OF  THE  CITY  COUNCIL  OF  THE  CITY  OF  MIAMI  GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING  THE  CITY  MANAGER  TO  ISSUE  A  PURCHASE  ORDER  TO  GARBER  CHEVROLET, INC., FOR  THE  PURCHASE  OF  EIGHT  (8) 2013  CHEVROLET  TAHOE  VEHICLES  IN  THE  AMOUNT  TWO  HUNDRED  NINE  THOUSAND, EIGHT  HUNDRED  TWENTY ‐FIVE  DOLLARS  AND  NINETY ‐TWO  CENTS  ($209,825.92), IN  ACCORDANCE  WITH  FLO RIDA  SHERIFF’S  ASSOCIATION  CONTRACT  NUMBER  071 ‐000 ‐13 ‐1; PROVIDING  FOR  THE  ADOPTION  OF  REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING  FOR  AN  EFFECTIVE  DATE. Staff  Summary: The  Fleet  Department  has  completed  the  first  round  of  vehicle  purchases  for  fiscal  year  2013. Staff  is  requesting  Council  approval  to  purchase  eight  (8) vehicles  budgeted  for  in  the  2013  Budget  from  Garber  Chevrolet. New  units  will  replace  older  high  mileage  vehicles  to  reduce  downtime  and  associated  repair  costs. The  total  cost  of  the  eight  (8 ) vehicles  exceeds  the  purchase  authority  of  the  City  Manager.   The  purchase  of  eight  (8) vehicles  are  being  presented  to  Council  for  award  in  accord  with  the  State  of  Florida  Contract. ADD-ON ITEM 4: RESOLUTION P.O. to Garber Chevrolet Inc.   1515  NW  167  Street, Building  5  Suite  200    Miami  Gardens, Florida  33169   The  State  of  Florida, competitively  awarded  a  contract  for  the  purchase  of  a  variety  of  fleet  vehicles, effective   November  1, 2012, Garber  Chevrolet  Buick  GMC  Truck., among  others  was  awarded.    Police  Department   eight  (8) 2013  Chevrolet  Tahoe  Police  2WD  4  Door  $26,228.24  Each    It  is  requested  that  the  City  Council  Authorize  the  City  Manager  to  issue  a  Purchase  Order  to  Garber  Chevrolet  in  the  amount  of   $209,825.92.  Proposed  Action: That  the  City  Council  approve  the  proposed  resolution. Attachment:
