Crew, City Manager Department: Fleet Division Short Title: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO DON REID FORD, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) FORD UTILITY POLICE INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES IN THE AMOUNT OF EIGHTY THREE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED NINETY ‐ THREE DOLLARS ($83,193.00), IN ACCORDANCE WIT H FLORIDA SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION CONTRACT NUMBER 12 ‐20 ‐0905; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Staff Summary: The Fleet Department completed the first round of vehicle purchases for fiscal year 2013. Staff is requesting Council approval to purchase Three (3) vehicles budgeted for in the 2013 Budget from Don Reid Ford. New units will replace older high mileage vehicles to reduce downtime and associated repair costs. The total cost of the Three (3 ) vehicles exceeds the purchase authority of the City Manager. The purchase of Three (3) vehicles are being presented to Council for award in accord with the Florida Sherrifs Association. The Florida Sherrifs Association, competitively awarded a contract for the purchase of a variety of fleet vehicles, effective November 1, 20 12, Don Reid Ford Inc., among others was awarded.
