Crew, City Manager Department: Fleet Division Short Title: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO DUVAL FORD, LLC, FOR THE PURCHASE OF TEN (10) VEHICLES FOR THE CITY’S FLEET IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTY ‐TWO THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED FORTY ‐FIVE DOLLARS ($2 52,645.00), IN ACCORDANCE WITH FLORIDA SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION CONTRACT NUMBER 12 ‐20 ‐0905; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Staff Summary: The Fleet Department has completed the first round of vehicle purchases for fiscal year 2013. The Staff is requesting Council approval to purchase Ten (10) vehicles budgeted for in the 2013 Budget from Duval Ford. New units will replace older high mileage vehicles to reduce downtime and associated repair costs. The pu rchase of Ten (10) vehicles are being presented to Council for award in accord with the Florida Sherrifs Association. The Florida Sherrifs Association, competitively awarded a contract for the purchase of a variety of fleet vehicles, effective November 1, 2012, Duval Ford, among others was awarded.
