Davis Department:Mayor/Council   Short Title:    A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE THIRD ANNUAL ANTI- BULLYING CAMPAIGN IN THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.   Staff Summary:    Bullying may be the most prevalent form of violence in the schools and the form that is likely to affect  the greatest number of students.  Bullying is a common occurrence on the lives of children, and such  traumatic acts occur in schools, parks and throughout the community.  Perpetrators of bullying engae  in harassment by means of written, verbal or physical acts.    In recognition of  National Bullying week, November 17‐21, 2014, Councilwoman Davis is implementing  the third annual Anti‐Bullying campaign in the City of Miami Gardens.  This initiative began in 2006 by  PACER’S National Bullying Prevention Center is to raise awareness on bullying prevention.   ITEM K-6) CONSENT AGENDA RESOLTUION 3rd Annual Anti-Bullying Campaign   18605 NW 27th Avenue    Miami Gardens, Florida 33056    Councilwoman Davis proposes that the City implement a week long anti‐bullying campaign to educate  children and parents, residing in the City of Miami Gardens of the dangers and consequences of  bullying.     Proposed Action:    RECOMMENDATION:  That City Council approve the resolution implementing the third annual anti‐bullying  campaign in the City of Miami Gardens from November 17‐21, 2014.    Attachment:
