Short Title:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO DJ AUTO COLLISION
CENTER, INC., MASTERS PAINT & BODY SHOP, INC., AND WORLD
MOTOR CORPORATION, FOR AUTO REPAIR SERVICES OF THE
CITY’S FLEET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE
PURCHASE ORDERS, IN AN AMOUNT, NOT TO EXCEED THE ANNUAL
ALLOCATED BUDGETED AMOUNT, FOR THIS PURPOSE; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
Staff Summary:
In an effort to maintain the extensive fleet of city vehicles, Miami Gardens solicited bids to acquire auto
repair services to repair damaged vehicles.
This contract will be in effect for a two (2) year period, allowing the City an option to renew for an
additional two (2) year period.
City staff prepared specifications and advertised on July 28, 2014. A broadcast notice was sent to 115
vendors. Five (5) vendors requested bid packages. The bids were opened August 14, 2014. Three (3)
bids were received. Copies of the proposal documents are available at the assistant to the Mayor and
Council’s Office for review.

Based on pricing and evaluation, staff recommends award to DJ AUTO COLLISION CENTER located in
Miami, MASTERS PAINT BODY SHOP, located in West Park, Florida, and WORLD MOTOR
CORPORATION located in Miami, Florida. Estimated project costs as well as turn-around times for each
vehicle repair project will be used to determine the distribution of work between the awarded vendors.
This will ensure the City the most cost effective and timely vehicle repair.
Estimated annually expenditure is $75,000.
Fiscal Impact
This expense will be part of the expenses in FY 2015 budget “Repairs and Maintenance” line item
budgeted at $1,174,750.
Proposed Action:
That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to issue Purchase Orders to DJ AUTO COLLISION
CENTER located in Miami, MASTERS PAINT BODY SHOP, located in West Park, Florida, and WORLD
MOTOR CORPORATION located in Miami, Florida as needed, not to exceed the allocated budget
amount.
