A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USAGE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS COUNCIL CHAMBERS FOR
THE 100 BLACK MEN OF SOUTH FLORIDA'S ANNUAL
MEETING ON SATURDAY, JULY 22, 2017; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the 100 Black Men of South Florida would like to host its Annual
Meeting on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, Mayor Oliver Gilbert is requesting the usage of the City of Miami Gardens
Council Chambers for the 100 Black Men of South Florida's Annual Meeting,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the usage of the City of Miami Gardens Council Chambers for the
100 Black Men of South Florida's Annual Meeting on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 14, 2017.

Staff Summary:
To encourage the presence of worthwhile community service organizations in the City of Miami
Gardens, the Mayor proposes authorizing the 100 Black Men of South Florida's use of the City's council
chambers on Saturday, July 22, 2017 to host their annual meeting. The 100 Black Men of South Florida is
an organization committed to improving the quality of life and educational opportunities for local youth.
