A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR THE
REGISTRATION OF ABANDONED PROPERTIES; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City previously enacted Section 28-301 of the Code of
Ordinances, whereby Mortgage Companies are required to register with the City of
Miami Gardens when a property goes into foreclosure, and
WHEREAS, the City intends to contract with a third party vendor to assist with
the registration process and to collect registration fees, and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to establish a fee for registration to cover the costs
to the City for managing the Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: ESTABLISHMENT OF FEE: The City Council of the City of Miami
Gardens hereby establishes the registration fee for the Abandoned Properties Registry
at $250.00. The City further establishes a late fee of $50.00.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 2017.
