A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ACKNOWLEDGING THE
RE-APPOINTMENT OF JOSEPHINE SANDERS TO THE
ELDERLY AFFAIRS ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR A THREE
YEAR TERM; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-242 of the City of Miami Gardens Code
of Ordinances, Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom, re-appoints Josephine Sanders to the
Elderly Affairs Advisory Committee, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Sanders' will serve a three year term, and
WHEREAS, this Resolution acknowledges Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom
re-appointment of Josephine Sanders to the Elderly Affairs Advisory Committee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby acknowledges the appointment of Josephine Sanders to the Elderly Affairs
Advisory Committee for a three year term.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 2017.

Staff Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-242 of the City of Miami Gardens Code of Ordinances, Councilwoman Lillie
Q. Odom, re-appoints Josephine Sanders to the Elderly Affairs Advisory Committee. Ms. Sanders’ term
will commence upon appointment and will serve at the pleasure of Councilwoman Odom. Ms.
Josephine Sanders will continue to adhere to the duties and powers of the Advisory Committee as
outlined in the pertinent Ordinance.
