HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-40 REQ MIAMI DADE POLICE DEPT CONTINUE CROSSING GUARDS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICERESOLUTION NO. 2003-40 A RESOLUTION OE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT CONTINUE TO PROVIDE SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS FOR MIAMI GARDENS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IS PROVIDED; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council, recognizes the importance of keeping our children safe as they walk to and from school; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to request that the Miami-Dade Police Department continue to provide school crossing guard services to schools located within the corporate boundaries of the City of Miami Gardens until further notice is provided. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Requesting to provide school crossing guards. The Miami-Dade County Police Department is hereby authorized to continue school crossing service to the schools located within the corporate boundaries of the City of Miami Gardens until further notice. The City shall provide the police department with 45 days notice if it desires to terminate school crossing guard service. Section 2: Effective Date. upon adoption. This Resolution shall become effective immediately ATTE PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day ofNovember, 2003.
