A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ACKNOWLEDGING
COUNCILWOMAN LILLIE Q. ODOM'S APPOINTMENT OF
CAROLYN NELSON-GOEDERT TO THE COMMISSION FOR
WOMEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR A TWO (2) YEAR TERM ;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-205 of the City of Miami Gardens Code
of Ordinances, Councilwoman Lillie 0. Odom, has appointed Carolyn Nelson-Goedert to
the Commission for Women Advisory Committee, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Nelson-Goedert will serve a two year term, and
WHEREAS, this Resolution acknowledges Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom's
appointment of Carolyn Nelson-Goedert to the Commission for Women Advisory
Committee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby acknowledges Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom's appointment of
Carolyn Nelson-Goedert to the Commission for Women Advisory Committee for a two
year term.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 2017.

Staff Summary:
In accordance with Section 18-20 of the Code of Ordinances, Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom, appoints
Carolyn Nelson-Goedert to the Commission For Women Advisory Committee. Ms. Nelson-Goedert’s
term will commence upon appointment and expire 2019. Once appointed, Ms. Nelson-Goedert will
adhere to the duties and powers of the Advisory Committee as outlined in the pertinent Ordinance.
