A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO
SERVE ON THE UNSAFE STRUCTURES BOARD;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on April 11, 2012, the City Council adopted Ordinance No.
2012-05-278, which established an Unsafe Structures Board, and
WHEREAS, the Unsafe Structures Board is tasked with hearing appeals
from actions and decisions of the Building Official regarding the safety of structures
throughout the City, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 28-68(1) of the City's Code of
Ordinances, seven (7) board members are to be appointed by the Mayor and each
member of the City Council to serve a two (2) year term,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are
hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPOINTMENT: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby appoints the following persons to serve as members of the Unsafe
Structures Board:

made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The City Council of the City of Miami
Gardens hereby acknowledges Councilman David Williams appointment of Doretha
Nichson to the Excellence in Education Temporary Ad Hoc Advisory Committee.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

Staff Summary:
