A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA. DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO OFFER SNORKELING AND SCUBA LESSONS AT A CITY
POOL FOR THE PURPOSE OF LEARNING THE BASIC
PRINCIPLES AND SKILLS NEEDED; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Gilbert is requesting that snorkeling and scuba lessons be
implemented at a City pool as soon as practical but if necessary, at the beginning of the
new 2018-2019 Fiscal Year, and
WHEREAS, this will expand recreational programming and increase use of the
City pool sites, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this is to learn the basic principles and skills needed
for snorkeling and scuba diving, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Gilbert proposes that the City offer snorkeling and scuba
lessons to the City of Miami Gardens Residence,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby directs the City Manager to offer snorkeling and scuba lessons at a City pool.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 2017.
