A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS. FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS SNOWMOBILE AS WELL AS
WAIVING FEE USAGE FOR VISTA VERDE PARK AND LAW
ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT, FOR THE POP UP WITH PAPA
KEITH AND 103.5 THE BEAT ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 13,
2018; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Pop-Up with Papa Keith and 103.5 the beat is scheduled for
Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Vista Verde Park, and
WHEREAS, the People Matter Pop-Up community events are a spinoff of the
"Papa Keith for People Matter" movement and social media campaign, started by radio
veteran Papa Keith, and
WHEREAS, this pop-up community events serves as an extended platform for
the People's Voice, proving that not only does your voice matter, but You Matter, and
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2017, the #PK4PM movement successfully
spearheaded a 24 Cease Fire campaign in Liberty City, which resulted in zero shootings
in the area for that time period and we want to bring those efforts to Miami Gardens,
and
WHEREAS, the Miami Gardens edition of this series of community events will
have a "Non-Violence" theme aimed to increase peace and safety in the area, and
WHEREAS, the event will feature music from 103.5 The Beat Mixers, vendors,
free food, musical performances, health and wellness education, games and activities
for kids, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Oliver Gilbert would like to sponsor the use of the City of
Miami Gardens showmobile as well as the use of Vista Verde Park and Law
Enforcement in support of the Pop-Up with Papa Keith and 103.5 the beat event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of the City of Miami Gardens showmobile as well as the use
of Vista Verde Park in support of the Pop-Up with Papa Keith and 103.5 the beat event
on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 2017.

Staff Summary:
Mayor Oliver Gilbert would like to sponsor the use of Vista Verde Park, 21001 NW 39th Avenue
Miami Gardens, FL 33056, Law Enforcement Support, and the City of Miami Gardens
showmobile in support of Pappa Keith’s and the Beat 103.5 Pop –Up event on January 13,
2018. The Radio Station will provide entertainment and activities for the community that are
free of charge. As you all know, this park is rarely used. This would be a good opportunity to
activate the park and provide services in that part of the City. The event is scheduled for
