A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST
RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES SOCCER FEDERATION FOUNDATION, INC.,
FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE SOCCER FOR SUCCESS
GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF THIRTEEN THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($13,900.00) TO PROVIDE PRODUCTS
AND FUNDS FOR THE SOCCER PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO
TO AS EXHIBIT "A", AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY THIS
GRANT PROCESS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens has been awarded a grant from the
United States Soccer Federation, Inc., (USSF) and
WHEREAS, the USSF is committed to helping young people embrace an active
and healthy lifestyle, using soccer to cultivate critical life skills that pave the path to a
better future, and
WHEREAS, the Federation will provide both product and funds to assist in
establishing a healthy, well-rounded, soccer program in the City of Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the grant will cover three (3), 12-week sessions beginning the spring
of 2019 and terminating in June 2020, and
WHEREAS, the program is designed to introduce 480 youth to soccer, a healthy
lifestyle and teamwork,
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council for the City of Miami
Gardens authorize the City Manager to accept this grant award from the United States
Soccer Federation, Inc., and authorize the City Manager to execute any and all
documents required,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to accept the United States Soccer Federation,
Inc., grant award; and authorizes the City Manager to execute any and all documents
required by this grant process.
Section 1 EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 10, 2019.
