A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN ERHABOR IGHODARO'S SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS
($2,000), FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOSTING A YOUTH
BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, beginning in 2013, Councilman Erhabor Ighodaro has continuously
partnered with local elected officials and community organizations to host a Youth
Invitational Basketball Tournament in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the basketball tournament is aimed at keeping kids involved in
sports and staying active, and
WHEREAS, the tournament offers youth fifteen and under an opportunity to
display their developing skills and compete with peers across Miami-Dade County, and
WHEREAS, the Youth Invitational Basketball Tournament is scheduled to take
place Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Indoor Soccer Pro facility in Miami Gardens ,
and
WHEREAS, Councilman Erhabor Ighodaro is requesting a sponsorship in the
amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from his Public Affairs Account for the
purpose of hosting the Youth Invitational 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, and
WHEREAS, additional funding sources include sponsorships and donations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Councilman Erhabor Ighodaro's Public Affairs Account in
the amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00), for the purpose of hosting the Youth
Invitational 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 13, 2019.
