A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ESTABLISH A FREE ANGER MANAGEMENT/DISPUTE
RESOLUTION PROGRAM GEARED TOWARDS YOUTH AT THE
BETTY T. FERGUSON RECREATIONAL COMPLEX; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, anger and conflict are a normal part of life; but it is important people
able to learn valuable skills to assist them with managing anger and dealing with
conflicts constructively; and
WHEREAS, it is especially important that these valuable skills are learned by our
youth to give them strategies to problem solve in an effective manner, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami offers a number of programs though the Parks and
Recreation Department for our youth, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Oliver Gilbert is recommending that the City establish A
FREE anger management/conflict resolution program at the Betty T. Ferguson
Recreational Complex and that the City Manager partner with community agencies
and/or engage professionals to assist with this programming,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby directs the City Manager to establish an free anger management/dispute
resolution program geared towards youth at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational
Complex.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 12, 2019.
