HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-143-3272 Mayor Rolling Oaks and Showmobile Fee Waiver HBCU Picnic RESOLUTION NO. 2019-143-3272 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, WAIVING THE COSTS FOR THE USE OF ROLLING OAKS PARK AND THE CITY SHOWMOBILE FOR THE ANNUAL HCBU PICNIC SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY JULY 13, 2019; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Mayor Oliver Gilbert would like to sponsor the use of Rolling Oaks Park and the City of Miami Gardens showmobile in support of Academic Hustle's annual HBCU Picnic, and WHEREAS, the event is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 1p.m. to 6 p.m., and WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to unite local alumni, current students, and supporters of Historically Black Colleges & Universities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby waives the costs for the use of Rolling Oaks Park and the City showmobile for the annual HCBU Picnic scheduled for Saturday July 13, 2019. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
