A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A ONE-YEAR
RENEWAL OF THE AGREEMENT WITH H&J ASPHALT,
INC, PURSUANT TO INVITATION TO BID (ITB) 16-17-033,
FOR ASPHALT ROADWAY RESURFACING;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE
PURCHASE ORDERS AN AS-NEEDED BASIS NOT TO
EXCEED THE ALLOCATED BUDGET; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens ("City") requires asphalt roadway
resurfacing, and
WHEREAS, on June 5, 2017, the City issued ITB Number 16-17-033 seeking a
company to perform asphalt roadway resurfacing, and
WHEREAS, five (5) bids were received and evaluated and City staff deemed
H&J Asphalt, Inc. as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2017, the City Council approved the award of bid
to H&J Asphalt, Inc. and an Agreement with an initial term of two (2) years and an
option to renew annually not to exceed a maximum of three (3) one (1) year periods,
and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council approve the renewal of the
Agreement with H&J Asphalt, Inc. for asphalt roadway resurfacing and authorize the
City Manager to issue purchase orders on an as needed basis,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes a one-year renewal of the Agreement With H&J Asphalt, Inc,
pursuant to ITB 16-17-033, for asphalt roadway resurfacing and authorizes the City
Manager to issue purchase orders on an as-needed basis not to exceed the allocated
budget.
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 24, 2019.
