A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING A PLEDGE TO MATCH THE STATE OF FLORIDA
CULTURAL FACILITIES GRANT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on April 24, 2019, the City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
("City") approved Resolution No. 2019-111-3240 authorizing the City Manager to apply
for the State of Florida Cultural Facilities Grant to obtain a substantial amount of funds
needed for the Community Redevelopment Agency's catalyst project which is the Miami
Gardens Performing Arts Center ("MGPAC") and to facilitate the construction of the
MGPAC, and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Cultural Affairs requires a
resolution by the Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") pledging that the CRA
will match dollar-for-dollar the "Culture Builds" Grant up to One Million Five Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1 ,500,00.00) provided by the State of Florida within ninety (90)
days of the start of the grant award period, and
WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the CRA Board authorize a match of funds
from the CRA for this purpose,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2. AUTHORIZATION: The City of Miami Gardens Community
Redevelopment Agency hereby authorizes a pledge to match funds received from the
State of Florida Department of Cultural Affairs for the MGPAC.
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 31,
2019.
