A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF
INVITATION TO BID NUMBER 18-19-019 TO SUN EAGLE
GENERAL CONTRACTORS CORPORATION, FOR THE
REPAIRS OF THE CEILING AT THE SALLY PORT IN THE
POLICE BUILDING; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANGER TO
ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS, AS NEEDED, NOT TO EXCEED
FIFTY-EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND
ZERO CENTS ($58,500.00), FOR THIS PURPOSE; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the construction of the City of Miami Gardens Public Safety Building
included a Sally Port to facilitate secure transfer of persons in Police custody for
detention or interview, and
WHEREAS, portions of the ceiling insulation have delaminated from the deck
above and requires replacement, and
WHEREAS, new material will be applied after removal of specified portions of the
existing insulation, cleaning, scraping and application of an approved bonding agent,
and
WHEREAS, all materials are to be applied in strict accord of manufacturer's
recommendations and requirements, and
WHEREAS, the Sally Port will remain in operation through the installation of
temporary barriers, and
WHEREAS, in support of the City of Miami Gardens project to repair the ceiling
at the Sally Port in the Police Building, Invitation to Bid (ITB) #18-19-019 was advertised
on BidSync on June 27, 2019, and
WHEREAS, the ITB opened on August 1 , 2019, and one (1) firm, Sun Eagle
General Contractors Corporation, submitted a bid in response to the advertised bid and
it was publicly read, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council approve the award of
Invitation to Bid No. 18-19-009, to Sun Eagle General Contractors Corporation, for the
repairs of the ceiling at the Sally Port in the Police Building, and authorize the City
Manager to issue purchase orders, on an as needed basis, not to exceed Fifty-Eight
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($58,500.00),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes an award of Invitation to Bid Number 18-19-019 to Sun Eagle
General Contractors Corporation, for the repairs of the ceiling at the Sally Port in the
Police Building; and authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders, as needed,
not to exceed Fifty-Eight Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($58,500.00),
for this purpose
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2019.
