HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-210-3339 Seat 1 Ribbon Cutting Signage Military Veteran Parking Spaces RESOLUTION NO. 2019-210-3339 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM COUNCILWOMAN ODOM'S SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00), TO HOST A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR THE SIGNAGE INSTALLATION OF THE DESIGNATED MILITARY VETERAN PARKING SPACES ON THE CITY'S PROPERTIES; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on July 10, 2019 the Mayor and City Council approved Resolution No. 2019-155-3284 authorizing the designation of veteran parking spaces at all City facilities, and WHEREAS, the first veteran designated parking space will be installed at Buccaneer Park, and WHEREAS, Councilwoman Odom will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 30, 2019 for the first designated veteran's parking space while also honoring Military Veterans, and WHEREAS, Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom is requesting to utilize $1,000 from her Special Event Account towards the expenses associated with this ceremony, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby allocates funds from Councilwoman Odom's Special Events Account in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), to host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Signage Installation of the designated Military Veteran parking spaces on the City's Properties. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2019.
