A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ONE-YEAR
RENEWAL OF THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT WITH ANTHONY
BRUNSON P.A. AND BCA WATSON RICE, LLP., FOR
EXTERNAL AUDITING SERVICES FOR THE BUDGETED
AMOUNT, PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Florida Statutes 218.39, all municipalities are
required to have an annual audit performed by an independent firm of Certified Public
Accountants, and
WHEREAS, on May 27, 2015, the City of Miami Gardens staff issued Request for
Proposals in accordance with Florida Statute 218.391, and
WHEREAS, on July 13, 2015, an initial Audit Committee was held, and
WHEREAS, the evaluation determined that the six firms were responsive and
responsible to the requirements of the RFP, and
WHEREAS, after evaluation and scoring, the Evaluation Committee ranked all
six firms, and
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2015, the Evaluation Committee reconvened to allow the
Committee to re-score the proposers prices as specified in the Evaluation Criteria, Fees
and Expenses, section of the RFP, and
WHEREAS, Oral presentations were held on July 22, 2015, and the ranked firms
made presentations to the City Council, and
WHEREAS, a contract award was made under Resolution Number 2015-131-
2328 to Anthony Brunson P.A. & BCA Watson Rice. LLP., for External Auditing Services
containing a two (2) year renewal option, subject to completion, acceptance and
presentation to City Council of the 2016-2017 fiscal year audit, and
WHEREAS, Anthony Brunson P.A., completed and presented the annual audit
for fiscal year 2017-2018 to City Council on April 10, 2019, and approved under
Resolution Number 2019-109-3238 for the 2017-2018 Annual Audit Report, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council approves this resolution to
renew the final renewal of this contract for one (1) year with Anthony Brunson P.A. &
BCA Watson Rice. LLP, for External Auditing Services,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the one (1) year renewal of that certain Agreement with Anthony
Brunson P.A. & BCA Watson Rice. LLP, for External Auditing Services.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 9, 2019.
