HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-221-3350 RFP 18-19-013 United States Industries Inc Janitorial Services RESOLUTION NO. 2019-221-3350 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) 18-19-013 TO UNITED STATES SERVICES INDUSTRIES, INC., FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR THIS PURPOSE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-THREE DOLLARS ($157,563.00) ANNUALLY; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens ("City") requested sealed proposals from qualified responsible vendors with exceptional knowledge, skills, and demonstrated expertise to furnish all labor, equipment and materials required to perform janitorial services for City municipal offices and various park facilities, and WHEREAS, on July 3, 2019, RFP Number 18-19-013 for Annual Contract Janitorial Services Citywide was solicited via Bidsync, and WHEREAS, the RFP was opened on August 8, 2019 and three (3) proposals were received from Gum Hunters Carpet and Tile Cleaning Services Corp., Melgar Facility Maintenance, LLC, and United States Service Industries, Inc. and were publicly read, and WHEREAS, on August 19, 2019 the Evaluation Committee evaluated all proposals in accordance with the criteria set forth in the RFP and deemed Gum Hunters Carpet and Tile Cleaning Services Corp. non-responsive and Melgar Facility Maintenance, LLC, and United States Service Industries, Inc. both responsive and responsible, and WHEREAS, a copy of the proposal documents and submittals are available at the Assistant to the Mayor and Council's Office for review, and WHEREAS, after evaluation and scoring, the Evaluation Committee ranked United States Service Industries, Inc. first and recommended them for award, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Evaluation Committee's recommendation for award for RFP Number 18-19-013 for annual Contract Janitorial Services Citywide, to United States Service Industries, Inc. and authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to negotiate and execute a contract with United States Service Industries, Inc., NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby awards RFP 18-19-013 to United States Services Industries, Inc. for Janitorial Services and authorizes the City Manager and City Attorney to negotiate and execute an agreement for this purpose in an amount not to exceed One Hundred and Fifty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Sixty-Three Dollars ($157,563.00) annually. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
