HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-224-3353 Fee Waiver Betty T Music in the Park Barbara Jordan RESOLUTION NO. 2019-224-3353 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A RENTAL FEE WAIVER AS WELL AS WAIVING COSTS OF STAFF FOR THE USE OF THE BETTY T. FERGUSON RECREATIONAL COMPLEX AMPHITHEATER TO HOLD A FREE MUSIC IN THE PARK CONCERT ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2019; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson is co-sponsoring Commissioner Barbara Jordan's Music in the Park concert scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2019 at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater 3000 NW 199t" Street Miami Gardens, and WHEREAS, Music in the Park is a free, semiannual concert that attracts hundreds of residents and guests for a night of entertainment and music-related performances, and WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson, is requesting the waiver of rental fees as well as waiving costs of park staff and any other fees associated with the event, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes a rental fee waiver for use of the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater and staff associated with the use of Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex Amphitheater 3000 N.W. 199th Street, Miami Gardens, for the free Music in the Park concert to be held on December 6, 2019. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
