HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-228-3357 Pressure Cleaning Program RESOLUTION NO. 2019-228-3357 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH A PROGRAM TO PROVIDE PRESSURE CLEANING SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OVER THE AGE OF FIFTY-FIVE (55) WHO HAVE RECEIVED WARNINGS FROM CITY OF MIAMI GARDEN CODE ENFORCEMENT AND A PRESSURE CLEANER LOAN PROGRAM FOR ALL OTHER RESIDENTS WHO HAVE RECEIVED WARNINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens ("City") Code Enforcement's objective is to keep the city blight free and aesthetically pleasing, and WHEREAS, due to economic constraints sometimes residents of the City are unable to meet the standards set forth by Code Enforcement, and WHEREAS, in an effort to keep the City beautiful and ease some of the financial burdens associated with property maintenance the City desires to create a program that provides pressure cleaning services for senior citizens who have received warnings from Code Enforcement or access to pressure cleaners for all other residents who have received warnings from Code Enforcement, and WHEREAS, Mayor Oliver Gilbert recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to establish a Pressure Cleaning Program that will assist Miami Gardens residents who have received warnings from Code, Enforcement, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager establish a program to provide pressure cleaning services to residents over the age of fifty-five (55) who have received warnings from City of Miami Garden Code Enforcement and a pressure cleaner loan program for all other residents who have received warnings. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
