HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-238-3367 (ITB) Number 18-19-028, Senior Family Center Site - Demolition RESOLUTION NO. 2019-238-3367 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING INVITATION TO BID (ITB) NUMBER 18-19-028, SENIOR FAMILY CENTER SITE — NW 12TH AVENUE BUILDING DEMOLITIONS AND SITE WORK TO R2R DEMOLITION INC., FOR THE PROVISION OF TURNKEY COMMERCIAL DEMOLITION SERVICES TO THE SENIOR FAMILY CENTER SITE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE ALLOCATED BUDGETED AMOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens ("City") desires to establish a lump sum contract, with a qualified contractor, to provide turnkey commercial demolition services for the Senior Family Center Site located on NW 12th Avenue, and WHEREAS, on September 23, 2019, ITB Number 18-19-028, Senior Family Center Site — NW 12th Avenue Building Demolitions and Site Work, was solicited via BidSync, and WHEREAS, the ITB closed on October 16, 2019 after receiving ten (10) bids from Alexander & Johnson Project Management and Development Inc., Camino Real Group Inc. dba Alpha Wrecking Group, Campus Construction Group, Inc., Chin Diesel, Inc., Demcon Group, LLC., Paragon Construction UNLTD Inc., R2R Demolition Inc., RJ Spencer Construction, LLC.. Sun Eagle General Contractors Corp., The BG Group LLC, which publicly read, and WHEREAS, City staff evaluated the bids for compliance with the specifications and deemed all vendors as responsible and responsive to the requirements of the ITB, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends award of bid to R2R Demolition Inc. as the lowest responsive and responsible bid, and WHEREAS, a copy of the proposal document and submittals are available at the Assistant to the Mayor and Council's Office for review, and WHEREAS, Fiscal Impact Funding is provided for in account number 104-13-01- 513-630-00 in an amount of One Hundred Two Thousand Dollars ($102,000.00), and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council approves the Office of Procurement Management Recommendation For Award of ITB No.18-19-028, Senior Family Center Site — NW 12th Avenue Building Demolitions and Site Work to R2R Demolition Inc. and authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders on an as needed basis not to exceed the allocated budget amount, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby awards ITB Number 18-19-028, Senior Family Center Site — NW 12th Avenue Building Demolitions and Site Work to the Senior Family Center site and authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders on an as needed basis, in an amount not to exceed the allocated budgeted amount. Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
