A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING COUNCILWOMAN LILLIE Q.
ODOM'S ANNUAL TOY GIVEAWAY; AUTHORIZING A
SPONSORSHIP OF THE EVENT, IN THE AMOUNT OF THREE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000.00) FROM THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the purpose is to offer Holiday cheer to the area children, and
WHEREAS, it is an annual occasion of community outreach to families; and
WHEREAS, the toys are distributed to children ages two to sixteen years old on a
first come, first served basis, and
WHEREAS, this year, the Ted Lucas Foundation and others will partner to make
the occasion broader, they will provided a fun zone and expand the toy giveaway to
selected schools, and
WHEREAS, the Toy Giveaway will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at
the Buccaneer Park, 20061 NW 32,d Street, Miami Gardens, FI 33056, from 11:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Lillie Q. Odom is requesting three thousand
($3000.00), to be allocated from Account 001-12-02-512-492-01 entitled "Public Affairs
Special Events"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made
a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports the Annual Toy Giveaway to be held on Saturday, December 21 , 2019
at Buccaneer Park and authorizes a sponsorship in the amount of three thousand dollars
($3,000.00) from the Public Affairs Special Events Funds.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 11, 2019.
