A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
MAYOR GILBERT'S SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($2,500.00) TO NYAH PROJECT'S FELLOWSHIP
PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Oliver Gilbert is requesting $2,500.00 from his special event
account to support the Nyah Project's Fellowship Program, and
WHEREAS, Nyah Project is a nonprofit that develops diverse youth leaders
through transformative experiences abroad, and
WHEREAS, their signature fellowship program exposes youth to prominent
leaders from the civic, business, and professional community locally and abroad, and
WHEREAS, Fellows receive intensive training in human factor leadership, social
entrepreneurship, and experiential learning,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of two thousand five hundred ($2,500.00) from the
Mayor's Special Event Account to support Nyah Project's Fellowship Program.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 11, 2019.
