HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-028-3427 Safeware Inc CCTV Betty T RESOLUTION NO. 2020-028-3427 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO SAFEWARE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION CAMERA SOLUTION FOR THE BETTY T FERGUSON RECREATIONAL CENTER, BY RELYING UPON COUNTY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA'S, CONTRACT NUMBER 4400008468, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO DOLLARS AND TWENTY-EIGHT CENTS ($172,362.28); PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, a closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) upgrade, to prevent and investigate criminal activity that is occurring or has occurred in City of Miami Gardens ("City") parks, was delineated as a General Obligation Bond project ("Project"), and WHEREAS, the Project requires a complex deployment of fixed networked cameras throughout the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Center that will be streamed live to the Real Time Crime Center and stored in accordance with data retention policies, and WHEREAS, the County of Fairfax, Virginia's, Contract Number 4400008468 with Safeware, Inc was competitively bid through Request for Proposals Number 2000002547, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Equipment and Related Services, and expires on September 30, 2023, and WHEREAS, fiscal impact funding for the Project will be provided through General Obligation Bond Account number 300-72-42-572-630-00 "Infrastructure Improvements", in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Seventy-Two Thousand Three Hundred Sixty- Two Dollars and Twenty-Eight Cents ($172,362.28), and RESOLUTION NO 2020-028-3427 WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Safeware, Inc. for the purchase of a closed circuit television camera solution, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Safeware, Inc., for the purchase of a closed circuit television camera solution, by relying upon County of Fairfax, Virginia's, Contract Number 4400008468, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Seventy-Two Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars And TWENTY- EIGHT CENTS ($172,362.28). Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
