HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-029-3428 ITB 19-20-002 RG Vista Verde Drainage RESOLUTION NO. 2020-029-3428 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING INVITATION TO BID (ITB) NO. 19-20-002 TO RG UNDERGROUND ENGINEERING, INC., FOR VISTA VERDE PHASE 3 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR THIS PURPOSE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($1,334,385.00); PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the Vista Verde Home Owners Association, due to its inability to maintain the roads within Vista Verde Phase 3, deeded them to the City of Miami Gardens ("City"), and WHEREAS, because the existing drainage is insufficient to capture the runoff from the adjacent streets, installation of additional drain fields, catch basins, drain pipes and the inter-connection of the existing drainage piping is required, and WHEREAS, ITB No. 19-20-002, Vista Verde Phase 3 Drainage Improvements, was advertised on BidSync on October 1, 2019 and opened on November 13, 2019, and WHEREAS, thirteen (13) firms, American Pipeline Construction, LLC; Continental Construction USA, LLC; DBF Construction, LLC; Ferreira Construction Southern Division Co., Inc.; Florida Engineering and Development Corp.; GPE Engineering & General Contractors Corp.; JVA Engineering Contractor, Inc.; Maggolc, Inc.; Miguel Lopez Jr., Inc.; RG Underground Engineering, Inc.; RJ Spencer Construction, LLC; Ric- Man International; and V. Engineering & Consulting Corp, submitted bids in response to the ITB that were publicly read, and RESOLUTION NO. 2020-029-3428 WHEREAS, City Staff evaluated the bids for compliance with the specifications of the ITB and deemed RG Underground Engineering, Inc. the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of One Million Three Hundred and Thirty-Four Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty-Five Dollars ($1,334,385.00) for the project, and WHEREAS, the City received a Department of Environmental Protection Grant (#LP1320B) from the State of Florida for Two Hundered and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) for this project with the remainder of the project to be financed by Citizens Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) funds, and WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council approves the City Staff's Recommendation for Award of ITB No. 19-20-002, Vista Verde Phase 3 Drainage Improvements, to RG Underground Engineering, Inc. and authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract for this purpose, OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI ,GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby awards ITB No. 19-20-002, Vista Verde Phase 3 Drainage Improvements, to RG Underground Engineering, Inc. and authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract for this purpose in an amount not to exceed One Million Three Hundred and Thirty-Four Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty-Five Dollars ($1,334,385.00). Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its final passage.
