A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN DAVID WILLIAMS, JR SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS
($4,000.00), NUNC PRO TUNC, TO MARCH 6, 2020, FOR
HOSTING THE INAUGURAL MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE AND
ENGINEERING FAIR; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens hosted the inaugural Middle School
Science Fair Competition sponsored by Councilman David Williams Jr., on Friday,
March 6, 2020 at Carol City Middle School, and
WHEREAS, Councilman David Williams Jr., has extended the Science and
Engineer Fair from the Elementary level to the Middles schools in Miami Gardens
including Lake Stevens Middle School, and
WHEREAS, Councilman David Williams, Jr., supports Science and Education
initiatives that allows students to showcase their academic efforts in STEAM and extra-
curriculum activities that encourages enhancement in students' academic performance,
and educational experience, and
WHEREAS, Councilman David Williams, Jr. is requesting Four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00) from the Special Events Account for Seat 5, nunc pro tunc, to March 6,
2020 to support this event,
WHEREAS, Councilman Williams recommends that the City Council should be
approved nunc pro tunc to March 6, 2020, the date in which the Middle School Science
Fair was held,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Councilman David Williams, Jr., Special Events Account in
the amount of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00), nunc pro tunc, to March 6, 2020, for
hosting the Inaugural Middle School Science and Engineering Fair.
Section 1 EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 11, 2020.
