A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE MIAMI GARDENS RAVENS,
CHIEFS, AND VIKINGS AGREEMENTS WITH THE FLORIDA
YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE; A COPY OF WHICH IS
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, as part of the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance's (OBYFA)
mission, the desire is to have the youth football league and the registered teams
participate in Orange Bowl Youth Football Tournaments, and
WHEREAS, it is the intent for the OBYFA to assist in the development and
growth of participating teams by providing grant funding to supplement specific program
costs such as the equipment (purchase/refurbishing), uniforms and allowable capital
improvements, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens currently has both football and cheer
clubs (Ravens, Chiefs, and Vikings) that participate in OBYFA Tournaments each year,
and
WHEREAS, for the 2019 season, each club is eligible to receive a minimum of
$2,500 (up to $5,000) depending on available league funding, and
WHEREAS, by authorizing the City Manager to sign the OBYFA Park
agreements for the Miami Gardens Ravens, Chiefs, and Vikings, the City will be eligible
to receive funding allocated for the 2019 season,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Miami Gardens Ravens, Chiefs, and
Vikings Agreements with the Florida Youth Football League attached hereto as Exhibit
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON APRI ..16, 2020.
