A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST, RESPECTIVELY,
THAT CERTAIN RIGHT OF WAY DEDICATION DEED WITH
THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is planning a road
improvement project at the Golden Glade Interchange and would like to acquire a City
Right of Way area for the project, and
WHEREAS, the primary purpose of this project is to provide a system-to-system
connection for the SR-826/Palmetto Expressway eastbound to 1-95 northbound
movement and to improve the Florida's Turnpike southbound to 1-95 south-bound
connection in order to address traffic operations and safety issues and enhance
multimodal use for both transit and freight, and
WHEREAS, this project is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2022 and will last
about three years, and
WHEREAS, the FDOT is requesting that the City Donate the City's Right of Way
area on the FDOT Property that is located on the Golden Glades Interchange, and
WHEREAS, this ROW is no value to the City, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council approves the Right of
Way Donation to FDOT and execute the Deed Documents,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute and attest, respectively, that
certain Right of Way Dedication Deed with the State of Florida Department of
Transportation.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS SPECIAL VIRTUAL MEETING HELD ON JUNE 10, 2020.
