A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN DAVID WILLIAMS JR SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF
TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) NUNC PRO TUNC,
TO SUPPORT THE DAVID WILLIAMS JR., SCIENCE AWARD
EVENT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; ROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the annual David Williams Jr Science Award event tentative date,
time and location will be announced, and
WHEREAS, the David Williams, Jr Science Award is a community event where
guests, residents and visitors of Miami Gardens join Councilman David Williams, Jr
present receipents awards, and
WHEREAS, the David Williams, Jr Science Award is the final component to the
2019 Science and Engineering Fair in which fruit bearing tree with healing properties is
dedicated to a citizen that has made generous contributions to science in schools, and
WHEREAS, Councilman David Williams, Jr is requesting Two Thousand Dollars
($2,000.00) from the Special Event Account for Seat 5, nunc pro tunc designated for
each Councilperson under the City Council Special Event Account, and
WHEREAS, Councilman David Williams, Jr. recommends that the City Council
approves this resolution,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) Nunc Pro Tunc
from Councilman Williams' Special Event Account to support the David Williams, Jr
Science Award event.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS SPECIAL VIRTUAL MEETING HELD ON JUNE 3, 2020.
