A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO THYSSEN
KRUPP CORPORATION FOR ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE, BY
RELYING UPON SOURCEWELL (F.K.A. NATIONAL JOINT
POWERS ALLIANCE) CONTRACT #100516-TKE, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-ONE THOUSAND
SEVEN HUNDRED FOURTEEN DOLLARS AND NINETY
CENTS ($71,714.90); PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens ("City") western parking garage elevator
system sustained water damage as a result of windblown rain, and
WHEREAS, City Staff evaluated the location of the elevator and water intrusion
and recommended enclosing the elevator lobby area with a storefront glazing system,
and
WHEREAS, upon completion of the glass enclosures, the City's existing elevator
maintenance company, Thyssen Krupp, will complete repairs to the elevator for a total
amount of Seventy-One Thousand Seven Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Ninety Cents
($71 ,714.90) by relying upon Sourcewell Contract #100516-TKE, which is valid through
November 2021, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council authorizes the City
Manager to issue purchase orders to Thyssen Krupp for City Hall garage elevator
repairs,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby[LW1] authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Thyssen Krupp
Corporation for elevator maintenance, by relying upon Sourcewell (F.K.A. National Joint
Powers Alliance) Contract #100516-TKE, in an amount not to exceed Seventy-One
Thousand Seven Hundred Fourteen Dollars And Ninety Cents ($71,714.90).
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
