A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST
THAT CERTAIN AGREEMENT AND ATTENDANT
DOCUMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS,
FLORIDA AND BSD OF MIAMI GARDENS, LLC, REGARDING
DEVELOPMENT OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 17300
NW 7TH AVENUE ROAD ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT
"A": PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, BSD holds fee simple title to approximately four (4) acres of property
in the City of Miami Gardens, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the property is more specifically located at 17300 NW 7th Avenue
Road, Miami Gardens, Florida (the "Property"), and
WHEREAS, the Property currently has a vacant and vandalized 11-story
structure on it containing approximately 137,000 square feet of space formerly utilized
as a hospital and medical center, and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to encourage redevelopment of the Property, and
WHEREAS, BSD intends to redevelop the Property as a hotel, multi-family
apartment rental complex, condominium development or other approved or permitted
use (the "Project"), and
WHEREAS, the City and BSD are mutually desirous of resolving the Liens, Code
Violations, and Open Permits pursuant to the terms of the attached Agreement and
attendant documents,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
authorizes the City Manager and City Clerk to execute and attest respectively that
certain Agreement with BSD of Miami Gardens, LLC, and all attendant documents.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 8, 2020.
