A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A ONE HUNDRED
EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY-
TWO DOLLARS ($181,722.00) CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY
SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT AWARD FROM THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BUREAU OF JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE
ACCEPTANCE OF THIS AWARD; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens ("City') has been awarded Coronavirus
Emergency Supplemental Grant funding in the amount of $181,722.00, from the United
States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and
WHEREAS, this funding will be used to assist the City in preventing, preparing
for and responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic, and
WHEREAS, the funding will be used to purchase personal protection equipment
including hand sanitizer, protective sleeves, covid-19 test kits, gowns; N-95 respirator
masks, and
WHEREAS, these items will be used by the City Hall, Police, Parks & Recreation
and Public Works Departments,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT/AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of
the City of Miami Gardens hereby accepts the One Hundred Eighty-One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Twenty-Two Dollars ($181 ,722.00) Coronavirus Emergency
Supplemental Grant from the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice
Assistance; and authorizes the City Manager to execute any and all documents related
to the acceptance of this award.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 22, 2020.
