A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE CITY
MANAGER'S AUTHORIZATION TO ISSUE A PURCHASE
ORDER TO METRO EXPRESS, INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION
OF CONCRETE AT BETTY T. FERGUSON RECREATION
CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY FOUR
THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED NINETY FOUR DOLLARS AND
FIFTY CENTS ($64,494.50), BY RELYING UPON THE
EXISTING UNIT PRICE CONTRACT BETWEEN METRO
EXPRESS, INC AND THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a number of new improvements and upgrades have been completed
at Betty T. Ferguson Recreation Center site and stadium in the City of Miami Gardens
("City"), and
WHEREAS, the City desires to replace the existing area between the track and
four-foot tall track perimeter fence with a durable permanent surface for both aesthetics
and ease of maintenance, and
WHEREAS, City Staff evaluated various options and decided concrete was the
most durable and easily maintained surface treatment,
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council ratify the City
Manager's authorization to issue a purchase order to Metro Express, Inc., in
accordance with the City's current unit price contract, for the installation of concrete in
the amount not to exceed Sixty Four Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars and
Fifty Cents ($64,494.50),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS.-

OLLOWS:Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby ratifies the City Manager's authorization to issue a purchase order to Metro
Express, Inc. for the installation of concrete at Betty T. Ferguson Recreation Center, in
an amount not to exceed Sixty Four Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety Four Dollars and
Fifty Cents ($64,494.50), by relying upon the existing unit price contract between Metro
Express, Inc and the City of Miami Gardens.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 22, 2020.
