A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO GT
DISTRIBUTORS, INC. FOR PURCHASE & DELIVERY
STANDARD ISSUE WEAPONS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ITB NO. 19-20-014; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS
PURPOSE ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS NOT TO EXCEED
SIXTY FIVE THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY
SEVEN DOLLARS ($65,367.00); PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens current contract to purchase Glock pistols
on an as needed, when needed basis has expired, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Gardens Police Department will need to purchase Glock
pistols from a license firearms distributor(s), and
WHEREAS, a Invitation to Bid (ITB) Number 19-20-014 Purchase and Delivery
Standard Issue Weapons for Police Department was advertised via BidSync on March
19, 2020, and
WHEREAS, the ITB opened on June 4, 2020 and one (1) firm G T Distributors,
Inc. submitted a bid in response to advertised bid and publicly read, and
WHEREAS, City staff evaluated the bid for compliance with the specifications
and G T Dstributors, Inc. was deemed responsive and responsible to the requirements
of the ITB, and
WHEREAS, after tabulating the vendor prices and reviewing their submittals,
City staff recommends G T Distributors, Inc. be awarded; G T Distributors, Inc. has
previously provided service to the City of Miami Gardens,
WHEREAS, City staff recommends that the City Council approves the Award of
ITB number 19-20-014 Purchase and Delivery Standard Issue Weapons for the Police
Department and authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders on an as needed
basis not to exceed $65,367.00,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby awards ITB number 19-20-014 Purchase and Delivery Standard Issue Weapons
for the Police Department and authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders on
an as needed basis not to exceed $65,367.00.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
