A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST
RESPECTIVELY THAT CERTAIN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
IN SUBSTANTIAL FORM ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"
WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PROVIDING FOR FUNDING FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF NORTHWEST 208TH TERRACE
FROM NORTHWEST 27TH AVENUE TO NORTHWEST 25TH
AVENUE TO PROVIDE SECONDARY PUBLIC ROADWAY
ACCESS FOR THE LAKE LUCERNE COMMUNITY;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City has received complaints from Residents relating to not
having proper access from the Lake Lucerne neighborhood onto 27th Avenue, and
WHEREAS, in recent months, the City, through Mayor Oliver Gilbert and Miami-
Dade County, through Commissioner Barbara Jordan, have met with various interested
parties, including the Lake Lucerne Homeowner's Association, through it's President,
the Centerport Development Group, Bridgepoint Commerce Center and Calder Race
Course, and
WHEREAS, some of the parties have agreed to contribute money to the
construction of Northwest 208th Terrace from Northwest 27th Avenue to Northwest 25th
Avenue (the `Project") and Calder Race Course has agreed to contribute land for the
development of the road, and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Jordan is requesting that Miami Dade County agree
to contribute an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars for construction
of the Project, and would like to commemorate the agreement for the funding by virtue
of the attached Interlocal Agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS.-
Section
OLLOWS:Section 1 : ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and City Clerk to execute and attest respectively
that certain Interlocal Agreement in substantial form with Miami Dade County for funding
related to the construction of Northwest 208th terrace from Northwest 27th Avenue to
Northwest 25th Avenue attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 2, 2020.
