A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
VICE MAYOR HARRIS' SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNTS IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS
(9,000.00) TO SUPPORT THE CITY'S EXISTING RENTAL
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting 9,000.00 from his special
events accounts to support the City's ongoing rental assistance program, and
WHEREAS, The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had an adverse impact
on our state and local economy, and to the livelihood of Miami Garden's residents, and
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Harris would like to ensure that Miami Garden's
residents residing in district seat area 3, who are experiencing financial hardship due to
COVID-19, have the financial support needed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: the foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of nine thousand (9,000.00) from Vice Mayor's Special
Events Accounts to support the City's ongoing rental assistance program.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 22, 2020.
