A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FIFTEENTH (15TH)
PROGRAM YEAR ACTION PLAN, ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) requires that each Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement
Jurisdiction submit an Annual Action Plan outlining its programs utilizing federal funds,
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with HUD and CDBG regulations, a draft Annual
Action Plan has been prepared for the City of Miami Gardens ("City") Fifteenth (15th)
Program Year which commences on October 1, 2020 and employs One Million Ninety-
Eight Thousand and Five Hundred and Seventy-Six Dollars ($1,098,576) in CDBG
funds, and
WHEREAS, for program year fifteen (15), City Staff is recommending the
following allocations:
CDBG Projects Allocation
Housing Rehab $219,715
Infrastructure Improvements $164,787
Economic Development Activities $109,858
Public Services (15% Cap) $164,786
Demolition Activity $219,715
Program Admin (20% Cap) $219,715
Total Allocation $1,098,576
WHEREAS, the 2020-2021 draft Annual Action Plan was available for download
from the Community Development Department Website for (5) five days beginning
Monday, July 13, 2020, written comments were accepted until Friday, July 17, 2020 and
a public meeting on the matter was held via Zoom on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10AM,
and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council approve the CDBG
Annual Action Plan for program year fifteen (15),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby approves the Community Development Block Grant Fifteenth (15th) Program
Year Action Plan, substantially in the form attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 22, 2020.
