A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE RESPECTIVELY THAT CERTAIN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FOR
CARES ACT FUNDING, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A;"
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO TAKE
ANY ALL STEPS THAT MAY BE NECESSARY TO RECEIVE
THE CARES ACT FUNDING; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 3, 2020, the City Council adopted a Resolution urging
Mayor Carlos Giminez and Miami Dade County to share funds that the County has
received under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)
funding with the municipalities in Miami-Dade County, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Giminez and Miami-Dade County have agreed to share a
portion of the funding that it has received under the CARES Act with the City of Miami
Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement sets forth the terms and understanding
between the Parties to pursue their mutual interest in responding to and recovering from
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and
WHEREAS, the primary purpose of this Agreement is to ensure the effective and
timely dissemination of allocated Corona Relief Fund (CRF) dollars reimbursing the
local municipality for eligible activities under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic
Security Act (CARES Act),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 -ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2:AUTHORIZATION. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and
City Clerk to execute and attest respectively that certain Interlocal Agreement with
Miami Dade County for CARES Act funding, attached hereto as Exhibit "A;° The City
Council further authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to take any and all steps
required to received CARES Act funding from Miami Dade County.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 4, 2020.
