A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE ANY AND ALL
STEPS NECESSARY TO ACCEPT THE CONVEYANCE OF 4.5
ACRES OF VACANT LAND, MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT A, TO BE SET ASIDE AS
DESIGNATED PUBLIC PARK SPACE AS PART OF A
REZONING AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT KNOWN AS
VISTA LAGO; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2018, as part of a rezoning and redevelopment project,
Vista Lago LLC entered into a Covenant with the City of Miami Gardens ("City") to
donate 4.5 acres of vacant land for a public park within the Coconut Cay community,
and
WHEREAS, the Vista Lago project will be developed as a residential
community with a mix of townhomes, condominiums, and apartments to be located at
502 NW 207th Street, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council authorizes the City
Manager and the City Attorney to take any and all steps necessary to accept the
conveyance of 4.5 acres from Vista Lago to be established as a public park within the
Coconut Cay community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Attorney to take any and all steps
necessary to accept the conveyance of 4.5 acres of vacant land, more particularly
described in exhibit A, to be set aside as designated public park space as part of a
rezoning and redevelopment project known as Vista Lago.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS SPECIAL VIRTUAL MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 14, 2020.
